It is said that when the monk Bodhidharma visited the Shaolin Temple
one thousand years ago he noticed that the monks were weak and
unhealthy. He devised a system of exercises to strengthen them called
Yi-Jin-Jing, which means "the sinew transformation practice."
Yi-Jin-Jing consists of a series of postures performed with special
breathing techniques designed to strengthen the tendons, ligaments,
fascia, bone marrow, and the internal organs. By infusing your
connective tissue with Qi, or bio-energy, you feel unified, balanced,
and steely strong.
The exercise helps you develop a vast reserve of inner power that you
can draw on whenever you project your energy during any kind of
demanding activity such as sports, healings, or any arduous task in your
daily dealings.
Yi-Jin-Jing was especially designed for practitioners on the quest
for Enlightenment who realize that spiritual progress requires a strong
and healthy body. If you are tired of the gym and want to develop real
inner strength this practice is for you.
Robert Peng is the founder of Elixir Light Qigong. As a boy he
apprenticed secretly under the legendary monk Xiao Yao. Under his
Master's close supervision, he trained in the martial arts and then in
the healing arts. As part of his training he spent a hundred days
meditating in a dark, underground chamber without food. During this
period Xiao Yao visited him daily and instructed him in advanced
practices intended to accelerate his spiritual development.
As a result of this practice and many others, Robert awakened
extraordinary powers including the ability to discharge a powerful,
concentrated form of Qi, or bio-energy, that feels like a strong
electric current. Today Robert uses this energy to heal his patients and
inspire hundreds of thousands of students around the world to study
Qigong.
